Taylor was a 2022 2nd-round pick out of Tennessee and stepped straight into nickel work as a rookie. His TFL count has climbed every year (1 → 6 → 7 → 7), an unusual trend line for a corner — most CBs lock in to coverage volume by year 2. Taylor instead became a do-everything piece in Dennis Allen's and Joe Woods' looks: slot, outside, occasional blitz.

64 games, 205 solos, 78 assists, 52 PDs, 6 INTs across four seasons.

On a 2024 Saints defense that finished middle-of-the-pack, Taylor cracked the top 10 in pass deflections among all corners — sitting next to McDuffie, Slay, and Stingley. The 16 PDs paired with 7 TFLs is a profile you typically only see in dime safeties, not boundary corners.

42 PDs across 2023-2024-2025 — only 6 INTs to show for it.

The flip side of the volume profile: 41 PDs vs. 5 INTs across his last three seasons is a high ratio. League average for CBs is closer to 5:1 PD-to-INT; Taylor sits at 8:1. He's at the catch point a lot, but the takeaways haven't followed at the rate his coverage activity suggests they should.

The 2025 line (11 PDs, 2 INTs) brought the ratio back closer to normal.

4 TFLs in 2024 — most by any Saints CB in a single season this decade.

Milestone

Taylor's 7 TFLs in 2024 are the most by a Saints cornerback in a single season since at least 2019. The same line in 2025 (7 TFLs) means he's now run it back two years in a row.

It reflects how the Saints have used him — frequently in the slot, where corners get more run-fit responsibility, and on designed pressures (he has 6 QB hits in 2024 plus another 3 in 2025).

On a 2025 Saints roster in flux, Taylor was the only DB with 50+ tackles AND 10+ PDs.

Comparison

The 2025 Saints reshuffled the secondary around Taylor — Paulson Adebo moved on in free agency, Kool-Aid McKinstry took over outside. Through 17 games Taylor was the only Saints defensive back to clear both 50+ tackles and 10+ pass deflections in the same season.

He's also one of just 5 active corners with 4+ straight seasons of 11+ PDs to start a career.
