Oliver was a 2nd-round Falcons pick in 2018 (Colorado). He started outside as a rookie, moved to the nickel, then bounced through ATL (5 yr) → SF (1 yr) → NYJ (2 yr now).
His volume seasons cluster around 39-49 tackles — the typical slot CB workload. The 2021 ATL year was lost to a torn ACL.

Oliver tore his ACL in Week 4 of 2021 as the Falcons' starting nickel. He returned for 2022 but never recaptured the 2019-2020 starter volume in Atlanta — Dean Pees moved him into a part-time role, and ATL let him walk after the season.
The 2023 SF stint produced 39 tackles as a deep rotational piece, and the Jets brought him in on a 1-year deal for 2024 that he's now extended into a 2025 second season.
2019 — 47 tackles, 11 PDs as a 2nd-year starter — his best PD season ever.
MilestoneOliver's 11 pass defenses in 2019 is the high-water mark of his career — he hasn't crossed 7 PDs in any season since. That 2019 line was the moment ATL committed to him as a starter and slid him outside in their man-heavy scheme.
He never matched the 11 PDs again, and his career-best 49 tackles came the next year (2020) before injuries and scheme changes pushed him into the nickel.
Atlanta years (5): 144 tackles, 34 PDs. Post-ATL years (3): 107 tackles, 8 PDs.
SplitCareer chapters
| Period | Tackles | PDs | PDs/yr |

| 2018-22 ATL | 144 | 34 | 6.8 |
| 2023-25 SF/NYJ | 107 | 8 | 2.7 |
The PD volume dropped significantly after Oliver left Atlanta — from 6.8 PDs/season as a Falcon to just 2.7 PDs/season in his SF and NYJ years. That tracks with the role change: more nickel/zone responsibilities, fewer pure outside-coverage reps.
The tackle volume has held up surprisingly well — 35.7/yr in ATL vs 35.7/yr post-ATL — the shape of the production is just different.
3 career FFs and 2 career FRs — small but evenly distributed across 5 different seasons.
RareOliver has produced a takeaway in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2023 — 4 different seasons across 4 different role types (outside CB, nickel, post-ACL part-timer, SF backup). That's a rare consistency for a player whose role keeps changing.
The absolute count is modest (3 FF, 2 FR career), but the distribution makes him a one-takeaway-per-season player even in years where his snap count is light.
Steady volume floor: every healthy season since 2019 has produced 21+ tackles, even in reserve roles.
ComparisonAcross his 7 healthy NFL seasons, Oliver has cleared 20 tackles in every single one — including the 2022 ATL bounce-back year (21) and the 2023 SF backup season (39). For a player whose role has been redefined three times (outside → nickel → swing CB), that's an unusually flat production floor.
The 2025 NYJ year is on pace for ~30+ tackles, extending the streak into year 8.
