Game recap
Rams @ Raiders
2026 Wk 7 · LV 21, LA 35
Two Rams backs topped 90 yards, and the Raiders lost a fourth straight after a 3-0 start.
Kyren Williams and Blake Corum both ran for 90 yards. The last Rams pair to do that was Marshall Faulk and Trung Canidate in 2001.

| 7 | LA | LV | Kyren Williams 99 on 16, Blake Corum 93 on 17 |
Williams ran 16 times for 99 yards and Corum ran 17 times for 93. One team putting two backs past 90 yards happened 120 times league wide in the regular season from 1999 through this game, 38 of them since 2017. This is the first of those 38 that belongs to a Sean McVay offense. Two weeks earlier, Buffalo did the same thing to the Rams' defense.
Why it matters. Williams and Corum split 33 carries almost evenly, 16 and 17, so this was a shared backfield producing at the same rate rather than one back carrying the load. Two backs this productive in one game also means the run game did not depend on a single long run. The 25 year gap makes this a franchise level rarity rather than a weekly one.
Los Angeles led 28 to 6 at halftime, then gained 97 fewer yards after the break.

The Rams scored touchdowns on four first half drives: two Matthew Stafford passes to Davis Allen, one to Puka Nacua, and a 17 yard Kyren Williams run. After halftime they lost a Williams fumble and a Stafford interception. The Raiders scored a touchdown 86 seconds of game clock after Nick Dean's interception, and pulled within 28 to 18 before Blake Corum's 4 yard run settled it.
Why it matters. A first half at plus 0.534 EPA per play with a 69.4 percent success rate is close to the ceiling for an NFL offense, and it built a lead large enough to absorb a much worse second half. The two turnovers explain most of the drop: the Raiders' only positive half came with short fields and a passing game forced to throw. The 22 point halftime margin is what kept the comeback window narrow.
The Raiders started 3-0 and have now lost four straight. Seven teams since 1999 did that, and one reached the playoffs.

The Raiders allowed 54 points in their three wins and 143 in the four losses that followed. The 2000 Buccaneers are the only team in the list that recovered to a playoff berth, and the other six finished between 5-12 and 9-7.
Why it matters. The defense is the clearest change across the slide: points allowed per game rose from 18 in the 3-0 start to almost 36 in the four losses. Two of the four losses came by 3 points, so the record exaggerates the gap a little, but the last two opponents both scored 33 or more. History from this exact shape of start is poor, with one playoff team in seven.
The Rams converted 6 of 9 third downs. The Raiders converted 3 of 14.

| SF | 66 | 34 | 51.5% |

| BUF | 61 | 31 | 50.8% |
Both teams entered at almost the same rate, 45.9 and 44.7 percent. In this game the Rams' 66.7 percent was higher than any team's rate across the first six weeks, where the top was 51.5. The Raiders faced 14 third downs, 5 more than the Rams, and converted 21.4 percent.
Why it matters. Two offenses that were level on third down for six weeks finished this game 45 percentage points apart, and that gap tracks the Rams' play count advantage in the first half. The Raiders' 14 third downs also show how often their early downs failed: a 34.8 percent success rate on pass and run plays put them in long yardage repeatedly. Nine Rams attempts is a small count, so the size of their rate deserves some caution.
The Rams ran 35 times, 7 more than in any other game this season, and for the first time in 2026 they ran more than they threw.

Through six games the Rams' high was 28 runs, and three of those games had 52 or more pass plays. Against the Raiders the split flipped to 35 runs and 30 passes, run yards reached a season high of 202, and the 35 points were also a season high. Stafford still went 23 of 29 for 195 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Why it matters. Los Angeles had been a high volume passing team in its losses, with 56 or 57 pass plays against Denver and Buffalo. Here the run game carried the plan, which shortened the game for the Raiders and let Stafford work from manageable downs, visible in his 23 of 29 line. One game does not set a new identity, but it is the clearest outlier in the Rams' season by play mix.
The Rams have beaten the Raiders seven straight times. The only loss since 1999 came in 2010.

Eight meetings, seven Rams wins. The 35 points are the second most the Rams scored in the series in this span, behind the 52 in 2014. The last two meetings before this one were decided by 1 and 5 points, so this was the most comfortable Rams win in the matchup since 2018.
Why it matters. Cross conference opponents meet only once every few seasons, so a seven game streak spans multiple coaching staffs and rosters on both sides and says little about either current team on its own. What it does show is that this result fits a long pattern rather than breaking one. The margin matters more here: after two one score games, the Rams won by two touchdowns on the road.
